How durable are Seiko watches?

I never had a "expensive" watch before. I just got a Seiko SNAA30 for christmas. It has Titanium Carbon Nitride plating – is this something that can crack and peel off with age? Also how strong is the clear part that you see on the face of the watch? I’ve had cheap watches before that in the middle of the day I look at the time and there is a scratch or gouge on it from apparently bumping into something without knowing.

My hubby has 6 Seiko watches (and counting). Even though i get mad each time he buys a watch, he said a Seiko watch is worth the buy as it is super durable and it looks great.
The face of the watch will never scratch as it is made from Sapphire crystal (that’s what he told me – i can’t guarantee that though). Our 14month old toddler keeps throwing them on the floor but my hubby doesn’t even worry about it cos he’s confident they won’t spoil.
About the Titanium Carbon Nitride – not really sure if it will crack and peel with age – but looking at the price and brand, do you think it will?
